Dr. Saad Saad Offers Hope To Palestinian Children

Dr. Saad Saad has made a name for himself with his innovative ideas in pediatric surgery. He has had plenty of clients on the operation table where his best work has been displayed. He is based in New Jersey where he executed his duties with great ease.

He has had the honor of performing surgeries on a number of Palestinian children. The first of such came in 2002 courtesy of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The non-profit organization was established to look out for Arab children who were in the Middle East. The patient was a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound. It took seven hours for Dr. Saad Saad to get the child back to a good condition. In a separate case eight years ago, he helped to cover up the exposed intestines of a young girl in a five-hour procedure. She received his services thanks to the PCFR. Three years later a paralyzed child was able to get back to his feet.

Dr. Saad Saad worked with a nervous tissue specialist to make this possible. The young boy from the Gaza Strip went back home to pursue his dream of playing soccer. All these children needed to travel to the US for their respective surgeries.

On the request of PCFR, Dr. Saad Saad has also traveled to Palestine to offer his services. His first medical mission came in May 2008. The underprivileged and poor children formed a huge bulk of his clients. This was followed by seven other medical missions.

The latest of these trips came back in May 2018. His prime desire was to offer the best medical services to many children who could not raise funds for such services.

Local pediatric surgeons also reaped big from his medical missions as he walked them through most of the procedures that he performed. He was able to achieve this goal as the Palestinian surgeons performed most of the operations during his last mission. The medical missions also did wonders for the country’s revenue as patients from neighboring countries also his services.

His work in Palestine has not gone unnoticed. Dr. Saad Saad received the Humanitarian Award from PCFR. This recognition was followed by an award from the Ministry of Health.

Leaders across the political divide have also acknowledged his efforts in Palestine. Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, the country’s president, presented to him the Gold Medal of Palestine when he received him during his final trip.

When the time came for Dr. Saad Saad to call it quits, he had done enough to win over the hearts of thousands of Palestinians. His career lasted for 40 very fruitful years. His stellar career also involved two notable inventions. He introduced a catheter tracker as well as a suction system that has made the surgical process less daunting.
